Role Overview

Dayananda Sagar University invites applications from qualified and research-oriented academicians for the position of Assistant Professor – Law. The candidate will be responsible for teaching, student mentoring, research, academic development and participation in institutional activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate Law courses as assigned.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, course materials, assessments and examinations.
• Mentor students and guide academic projects, seminars and moot court activities.
• Conduct and publish quality research in Law and allied legal disciplines.
• Publish research papers in reputed peer-reviewed / UGC-CARE or other recognised journals, as applicable.
• Participate in conferences, seminars, workshops and faculty development programmes.
• Contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching-learning practices.
• Develop research collaborations and contribute to funded research/consultancy activities.
• Support academic administration, accreditation and departmental activities.
• Participate in institutional committees, events and other responsibilities assigned by the University.

Qualification & Eligibility

Essential:

• Ph.D. in Law from a recognised University/Institution.
• Master’s degree in law (LL.M.) or relevant Law discipline with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• Candidates should have the required NET/SLET/SET qualification where applicable, subject to the applicable UGC provisions and exemptions .

Preferred Profile

• Strong academic record with demonstrated research and publication experience.
• Research/publication experience in areas such as:
• Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Corporate & Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Rights, International Law, Human Rights Law, Cyber Law, Environmental Law, Labour & Employment Law, Technology & AI Law, Arbitration & Dispute Resolution
• Experience in guiding student research, dissertations, moot courts, legal aid activities or similar academic initiatives.
• Good communication, presentation and student-mentoring skills.
• Exposure to interdisciplinary and contemporary legal research will be an advantage.
