Copy Supervisor (advertising agency experience is a must)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and creatively driven Creative Copy Supervisor with 8–10 years of relevant experience in an advertising agency environment. The role will be responsible for developing compelling advertising concepts and copy across multiple platforms, supervising copy quality and creative output, and partnering closely with Art Directors, Designers, Creative Directors, Account Management, Strategy, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of brand communication, campaign development, advertising narratives, consumer behaviour, and digital-first communication . They should be equally comfortable developing a big campaign idea, writing sharp copy, reviewing creative work, mentoring junior writers, and presenting creative thinking to clients.

This role requires someone who can balance creative excellence, strategic thinking, executional rigour, and commercial awareness while ensuring that all communication remains aligned with the brand's tone, objectives, and guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

1. Creative Concept Development

  • Develop original and compelling creative concepts for advertising campaigns across traditional, digital, social, and integrated channels.
  • Translate briefs, consumer insights, and business objectives into strong creative ideas and communication territories.
  • Develop campaign platforms, big ideas, creative narratives, taglines, headlines, scripts, and supporting copy.
  • Think beyond individual assets and create integrated campaign ecosystems that work across multiple touchpoints.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative ideation workshops.
  • Challenge conventional thinking and bring fresh, culturally relevant, and differentiated ideas to the table.
  • Ensure creative ideas are both conceptually strong and commercially viable .

2. Copywriting & Creative Execution across platforms and formats

3. Creative Supervision & Quality Control

  • Supervise the day-to-day creative output of the copy team and ensure work meets agency and client expectations.
  • Review concepts, copy, scripts, campaign routes, and final executions before client presentation or release.
  • Provide constructive feedback and direction to copywriters and junior creative team members.
  • Maintain consistency in brand tone of voice across campaigns and communication channels.
  • Identify creative gaps, inconsistencies, or executional issues and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure that creative work is strategically relevant, visually compatible, and aligned with the original brief.
  • Work closely with Art Directors and Designers to ensure copy and visual ideas complement each other .

4. Collaboration with Creative & Cross-functional Teams

  • Partner closely with Art Directors, Designers, Creative Directors, Strategists, Account Managers, and Production teams.
  • Collaborate with account and strategy teams to understand client requirements, campaign objectives, consumer insights, and market context.
  • Work with design and production teams to translate concepts into compelling final executions.
  • Participate in integrated creative reviews and contribute to overall campaign direction.
  • Coordinate with digital, social, media, content, and technology teams where campaigns require multi-channel execution.
  • Support the creative leadership team in maintaining a strong and collaborative creative culture.

7. Brand & Industry Understanding

  • Develop a strong understanding of client brands, products, target audiences, competitors, and market dynamics.
  • Ensure all creative communication reflects the brand's positioning, personality, tone, and communication strategy.
  • Stay current with advertising, culture, social trends, emerging formats, and evolving consumer behaviour.
  • Demonstrate awareness of how advertising is changing across digital, social, creator, AI, and emerging media ecosystems.
  • Bring relevant cultural and category insights into creative development.

8. AI & Emerging Creative Tools

  • Explore and leverage relevant AI-powered creative and content tools to improve ideation, research, content development, and creative workflows.
  • Use AI responsibly to generate creative starting points, explore multiple concepts, and accelerate content adaptation while maintaining human creative judgement.
  • Stay updated on emerging creative technologies and identify opportunities to improve agency creative processes.
  • Ensure AI-assisted outputs are reviewed for originality, accuracy, brand suitability, and quality.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Mass Communication, Journalism, English, Communications, or a related discipline .
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in an advertising, creative, digital, or integrated agency.
  • Strong experience in advertising copywriting and campaign development .
  • Demonstrated experience working on integrated campaigns across digital and traditional media.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Art Directors, Designers, Creative Directors, Account Management, and Strategy teams.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, advertising craft, campaign development, and copywriting ability.
  • Experience supervising, reviewing, or mentoring other creative professionals.
  • Experience participating in client presentations and creative reviews.
