Job Description

Social Media Manager – Restaurants & F& B

Tangy Tech Media | Hospitality, Restaurants & F& B

Hybrid | Travel / on-ground presence for clients, shoots and launches as required

If you've spent the last few years managing too many brands, filling content calendars, chasing trends and measuring success by whether you posted enough this month - this role is probably going to feel different.

We're looking for a Social Media Manager who understands restaurants and F& B beyond Instagram.

Someone who can walk into a restaurant, understand what makes it interesting, find the stories hiding inside the business, and turn those stories into content people want to watch, save, share - and eventually experience for themselves.

This is not a high-volume social media role.

It is a chance to work closely on a smaller but high-stakes portfolio of hospitality brands, go deeper into each business and build social media that contributes to brand relevance, desirability, discovery and growth.

#Why this could be an important career move:

There are plenty of social media roles where you can manage 10-20 accounts. This isn't one of them.

At Tangy Tech Media, we are deliberately building around quality over volume.

You will work closely with restaurant founders, chefs and hospitality teams and be involved much earlier than the point at which somebody says: "We need six reels for next month."

You'll understand the brand strategy. You'll understand the guest.

You'll understand the restaurant, the food, the people behind it and what the business is trying to achieve.

Then you'll decide what the brand should be saying - and how social media can bring that to life.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to move from managing social media to becoming someone who can build hospitality brands through content.

#What you'll own:

You will take responsibility for the social media and content direction of the brands assigned to you - from thinking through the strategy to making sure the work actually gets executed.

That includes:

Building social media strategies based on the brand's positioning, business objectives and target guest - not generic monthly content buckets. Translating brand strategy into strong, recognisable content pillars and recurring formats. Developing monthly and campaign-led content plans across Instagram and other relevant social platforms. Identifying the stories worth telling - founders, chefs, dishes, ingredients, producers, design, culture, people, processes, experiences and everything happening behind the restaurant. Writing strong briefs for reels, photography, video, design and campaign content. Working with photographers, videographers, designers, creators and client teams to bring those ideas to life. Directing shoots from a content and storytelling perspective. Writing or shaping captions and social copy so that every brand develops its own voice rather than sounding like another restaurant account. Planning restaurant launches, menu launches, collaborations, events, seasonal campaigns and cultural moments across social. Building content around PR moments, influencer activity, partnerships and campaigns so that social doesn't operate in isolation. Understanding what's happening culturally and digitally without turning every brand into a trend-chasing account. Managing publishing, community interaction and day-to-day social media hygiene. Reviewing performance and turning insights into better creative and strategic decisions. Tracking the metrics that matter - reach and engagement, certainly, but also discovery, enquiries, reservations, campaign response, audience quality and other indicators relevant to the business. Presenting ideas and recommendations confidently to founders and senior client teams. Taking ownership when something isn't working and changing course instead of waiting to be told what to do next.

#What we are not looking for

We're not looking for someone whose idea of social media strategy is: "Monday - motivational post. Wednesday - reel. Friday - carousel."

We're also not looking for someone who relies entirely on trending audio, meme formats or copying what another restaurant did last week.

And this isn't a role for someone who wants to receive a brief, execute exactly what's written and move to the next task.

We want someone who thinks. Someone who asks:

Why would anybody care about this?

Why would somebody save this?

What does this tell them about the restaurant?

Could any other restaurant have posted this exact piece of content?

What makes someone want to visit after seeing it?

What does this brand need to become known for?

#Who we're looking for:

You should ideally have 3–6 years of experience in social media, content or digital marketing, with meaningful experience working on restaurants, F& B, hospitality or closely related lifestyle brands.

You should already understand that hospitality content is its own discipline.

A beautifully shot dish isn't automatically a good piece of content.

Neither is a founder talking into a camera.

Neither is a reel with 500,000 views if nobody remembers which restaurant it came from.

We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

Strong restaurant/F& B social media work. The ability to develop ideas rather than simply execute calendars. A strong visual eye and understanding of photography, video and design. Good copy and storytelling instincts. An understanding of what makes restaurant brands culturally relevant. Experience briefing and directing photographers, videographers, designers or creators. Confidence working directly with founders, chefs and senior stakeholders. Strong organisation and the ability to move several pieces of work forward without constant supervision. Comfort analysing social media performance and making decisions from the numbers. Curiosity about restaurants, food, hospitality, culture, design and consumer behaviour.

Agency experience is useful.

Hospitality experience is considerably more important.

What you can build here:

We want this person to become far more than the person who manages our clients' social media accounts.

As Tangy Tech Media grows, there is room for you to develop into someone who can lead social and content strategy across our hospitality portfolio.

That means building your ability to:

Think strategically - Understand where a restaurant wants to go before deciding what it should post. Build brands - Develop recognisable voices, visual worlds and content properties rather than disposable social posts. Work commercially - Understand how content connects with restaurant discovery, demand, launches, reservations, repeat visitation and brand growth. . Lead creatively - Develop ideas and guide photographers, videographers, designers, creators and younger social talent. Build a serious hospitality portfolio - Work deeply with a smaller number of restaurants and F& B businesses rather than having your name attached to dozens of accounts you barely had time to understand.

About Tangy Tech Media

Tangy Tech Media is a hospitality-focused growth marketing, PR and brand strategy company working with restaurants, F& B businesses and hotels.

Our work sits across brand strategy, PR, social media, content, partnerships, creators, campaigns, launches and growth. We believe the strongest hospitality marketing doesn't begin with deciding what to post. It begins by understanding: What should this brand become? And then using every communication channel to build that position consistently.

That philosophy also shapes how our team works.

We would rather do meaningful work for a smaller number of ambitious hospitality businesses than become another agency running dozens of accounts through a content factory.

The kind of person who will thrive here:

You have high standards for your own work. You notice details. You're curious. You can defend an idea but you can also recognise when another idea is better. You don't need somebody constantly following up with you. You're comfortable working in a founder-led environment where good ideas can come from anywhere - but ownership matters. And you're excited by the idea of becoming very good at restaurant and hospitality social media, rather than remaining a generalist managing whichever category lands on your desk next.

To apply: Please send us:

Your updated CV to hr@ Your current and expected compensation. Your notice period / earliest joining date. Links to 2-3 restaurant, F& B or hospitality brands you've worked on.

For at least one of them, tell us briefly:

What you were responsible for. What you changed or introduced. What happened as a result.

We're less interested in seeing 50 Instagram handles.

We'd rather understand what you actually contributed to three of them.
