Financial Accountant Work Location - Cranbury, NJ Job Summary: The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and contributing to timely month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, hands-on SAP experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders. Job Description: Cash reconciliation: Record daily cash transactions and prepare related journal entries. Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items. Support Treasury-related reporting and cash management activities. Month-end close: Prepare and post journal entries in SAP for routine accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Partner with HR to review payroll reports and ensure accounting accuracy; Prepare payroll, bonus, and share-based compensation (SBC) journal entries; Record payroll accruals and related adjustments. Prepare prepaid expense amortization, FX revaluation, and other recurring journal entries. Support intercompany accounting activities, including reviewing delivery status, monitoring intercompany transactions, and preparing month-end reclassification entries. Fixed Assets Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, disposals, and reconciliations. Review and reconcile Construction in Progress (CIP) accounts and support timely capitalization of completed projects. Support capital expenditure tracking and compliance with company capitalization policies. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, maintaining supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests. Assist with ad-hoc tasks, support continuous process improvement and strengthening of internal controls. Qualifications & Competencies Strong understanding of general accounting principles, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting. Experience with month-end and year-end close processes and general ledger accounting. Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred. Hands-on experience with SAP is strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Mandarin language proficiency is preferred but not required. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field. CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is preferred but not required. 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred; candidates with strong accounting fundamentals and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
