About the Role
FACTS Advisory is supporting a financial institution client in the early stages of building its U.S. federal branch. We're looking for a Senior Analyst, Financial Control to join the branch's finance team, working in coordination with the institution's head office, and support the close, financial and regulatory reporting, and finance controls.
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role: you will prepare the work yourself, not only review it. It offers broad exposure and room to grow as the branch expands.
What You'll Do
Accounting and financial reporting
• Prepare journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations for the monthly, quarterly and annual close
• Prepare US GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules, and help coordinate the annual external audit
• Help maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts and accounting procedures
Regulatory reporting
• Prepare U.S. regulatory reports for foreign bank branches, including the FFIEC 002 and FR 2900, with supporting workpapers
• Gather data and respond to requests during OCC and Federal Reserve examinations
Controls
• Perform and document finance controls, including reconciliations and maker-checker review
• Reconcile intercompany balances with head office and related offices
• Support control testing by Compliance, Risk and Audit, and help resolve any issues found
Tax, planning and reporting
• Prepare data and schedules for U.S. federal and state tax filings, working with external advisers
• Help with budgets, forecasts and monthly management reports, including variance analysis
• Take part in system projects and process improvements, including user testing
What You Bring
Required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in bank accounting, financial reporting or external audit of banks
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP for banks (for example, credit losses, debt securities and loan fees)
• Exposure to U.S. bank regulatory reporting
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with general ledger and core banking systems
• Attention to detail, strong organization and the ability to meet deadlines
• High integrity and discretion with confidential information
• Fluent English
Preferred
• Knowledge of IFRS, especially IFRS 9
• CPA, progress toward it, or an equivalent professional designation
• Experience at a U.S. branch or agency of a foreign bank
• Hands-on experience with the FFIEC 002
• Portuguese or Spanish
Location and Work Authorization
This role is based on-site in Aventura, Florida. We prefer candidates who live within commuting distance of Aventura or are willing to relocate. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and in line with the market. The role is eligible for incentive compensation based on performance.
Why This Role
This is a rare opportunity to build a finance function from the ground up inside an established financial institution entering the U.S. market. You'll have real influence over how financial reporting and controls are designed and run.
FACTS Advisory is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
This posting is managed by FACTS Advisory Inc. on behalf of our client, whose identity remains confidential during this stage of formation.
