Video Editor

<p>We are looking for a skilled <strong>Video Editor </strong>with a sharp editorial eye and a strong instinct for visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will take raw footage from concept to final cut, cutting across short-form social content and long-format editorial pieces. This includes adding music, transitions, and motion elements that elevate the viewer's experience. You will work closely with producers, Video-head and the editorial team to deliver platform-ready content at pace. </p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Key responsibilities </strong> </p><ul><li>Edit short-form and long-format video content across digital and social platforms, from assembly cut to final delivery. </li><li>Add music, sound effects, transitions, and visual elements, including lower thirds, titles, and motion overlays — to enhance storytelling and viewer experience. </li><li>Adapt and reformat edits for platform-specific requirements: Reels, Shorts, YouTube, and web-first formats. </li><li>Collaborate with producers to integrate visual assets, GFX packages, and brand templates. </li><li>Maintain consistent quality standards across all outputs, ensuring pacing, colour, and audio meet broadcast and digital benchmarks. </li><li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver against tight editorial deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment. </li> </ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Skills &amp; qualifications </strong> </p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Film Production, Media Studies, or a related field. </li><li>4–5 years of professional video editing experience, preferably in a digital media, news, or content platform environment. </li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; or similar NLEs is an advantage. </li><li>Strong understanding of social media content formats and platform-specific editing best practices. </li><li>Proven portfolio demonstrating range across short-form, long-format, and social-first content. </li><li>Good ear for audio, music selection, sound mixing, and dialogue clarity. </li> </ul>
