We are a privately owned, AAHA-accredited small-animal hospital in Sacramento. We are a busy, successful four-doctor practice that has built a strong reputation by putting our patients, clients, and team first. We are looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team three days a week.

We genuinely like each other—and we have fun at work. Veterinary medicine can be demanding, so we believe that laughing together, supporting one another, and occasionally being a little goofy makes a big difference. Our team is kind, experienced, highly skilled, and always willing to jump in and help.

You’ll work alongside six talented RVTs and experienced veterinary assistants, with a fantastic Client Service Representative team supporting you too. We believe veterinarians should be able to focus on practicing medicine rather than trying to do everything themselves. We also believe strongly in teaching, mentoring, and collaboration. Relationships matter to us, and we pay close attention to making sure our doctors and team members have the support they need to build satisfying, successful careers.

Our focus is internal medicine, preventative medicine, urgent care, diagnostics, general surgery, dentistry, and nutrition. We have a board-certified cardiologist come to our clinic twice a month to evaluate cases. We also have an internal medicine specialist come once a month to do full abdominal ultrasounds. Our hospital has up-to-date diagnostic IDEXX in-house lab equipment and three times a day sample pick-up for IDEXX lab, DR radiology with radiologist specialist interpretation, ultrasound, and DR dental x-ray. Our doctors utilize ScribbleVet to help with medical records. We use Fear Free techniques whenever possible because we want our patients to feel safe and comfortable.

We’re looking for a veterinarian who is kind, collaborative, curious, confident, and enjoys being part of a team. You should love practicing great medicine, communicating with clients, learning from others, and helping your teammates. If you enjoy surgery and/or dentistry, that’s a big bonus. We work hard, we care deeply about our patients, and we have high standards—but we also laugh a lot.

This position is three days a week with the possibility to grow to four days a week in the future. 

• Expected total compensation for three days a week is $135,000 to $160,000+ per year. Base compensation would be set at $125k to $140k (no negative accrual) commensurate with experience and production compensation also depends on your experience, your caseload, and surgery/dental caseload.
