Role Description The Medical Biller (Trainer) is a part-time, remote role responsible for delivering training on medical billing processes, terminology, and standards to learners preparing for healthcare revenue cycle careers. Day-to-day tasks include designing and updating training materials, explaining medical billing workflows, and teaching topics such as insurance claims, Medicare guidelines, ICD-10 coding, and denial management. The trainer will conduct live or virtual sessions, provide practical examples and case studies, and assess learner progress through assignments, quizzes, and feedback. The role also involves staying current with industry changes, collaborating with the curriculum team to improve course content, and supporting learners with questions and guidance to ensure job-readiness.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of medical billing workflows and medical terminology, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners.
• Hands-on experience working with insurance claims and Medicare processes, including payer rules and coverage requirements.
• Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and its application in clinical documentation and billing.
• Experience in denial management, including identifying causes of denials and implementing effective resolution strategies.
• Previous experience as a medical biller, coder, or revenue cycle specialist, ideally in a training, mentoring, or instructional capacity.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners in remote settings.
• Comfort with using online learning platforms, productivity tools, and basic office software for remote training delivery.
• Relevant certification in medical billing and coding or healthcare administration is preferred; prior teaching or facilitation experience is a plus.
