Senior Accountant (Contract, 10-12 weeks) covering a medical leave. Location: Charlotte, NC - Fully onsite at Mallard Creek Polymers. Industry: Specialty chemical manufacturing. Schedule: Monday-Friday, typically 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with possible overtime during month-end close. Reporting To: Controller and CFO Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Key Responsibilities Process daily sales invoicing and accounting transactions for multiple companies. Manage accounts payable, including wire payments, auto drafts, credit memos, vouchers, and payment processing. Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, prepaid expenses, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Support bi-weekly payroll by allocating benefits and posting standard journal entries. Process employee expense reports through Concur. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial operations. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of accounting experience. Strong experience with month-end close and ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and quickly adapt to new processes. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with JD Edwards ERP. Manufacturing industry experience. Ideal Candidate: Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to "hit the ground running" with minimal supervision.
