Join Our Team as a Delivery Driver / Material Handler!

General Equipment & Supply is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Driver / Material Handler to join our growing team. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy a combination of driving, warehouse operations, customer service, and hands-on material handling.

This role involves making local and regional deliveries, loading and unloading equipment, assisting with warehouse operations, and traveling out of state when needed to support customer deliveries. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card, TWIC and possess a valid Class D Unrestricted Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport tools, equipment, and materials to customer locations and job sites.
  • Complete local, regional, and occasional out-of-state deliveries as assigned.
  • Load, unload, secure, and stage materials and equipment for delivery.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT requirements and company safety procedures.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory organization, and warehouse operations.
  • Verify delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures when required.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent General Equipment & Supply professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, and transportation activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class D Unrestricted Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card and TWIC .
  • Ability and willingness to travel outside of South Carolina and stay overnight when business needs require.
  • Experience driving pickup trucks, cargo vans, box trucks, or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload materials and equipment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and customer service.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous delivery driver, warehouse, material handler, or logistics experience.
  • Forklift certification or forklift operating experience.
  • Shipping and receiving experience.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • Knowledge of equipment, tools, construction supplies, or industrial products.
  • Experience towing trailers.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile devices.
  • DOT-regulated driving experience.
