What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

The Salesforce Automation Quality Engineer leads quality engineering and testing across Salesforce initiatives, projects, and workstreams. This role is accountable for delivering high-quality solutions through strong test strategy, scalable test automation, and risk-based testing.

The incumbent provides hands-on technical experience in Salesforce quality engineering, strengthens automation maturity, and drives continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and standards. The role also supports solution reviews, release readiness, defect prevention, and adoption of modern automation and AI-assisted testing capabilities to improve quality, accelerate delivery, and optimize cost.

How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

Test Strategy, Planning, and Execution:

• Design and maintain end-to-end test strategies and plans for Salesforce applications, including custom configurations, integrations, Lightning components, and related enterprise platforms.
• Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, and performance testing.
• Review business and technical requirements to ensure complete, traceable, risk-based coverage.
• Maintain traceability matrices, test scenarios, scripts, status reports, defect reports, and test exit reports.
• Identify test data needs, coordinate environment readiness, and manage dependencies.
• Support SIT, UAT, and release validation across multiple initiatives and agile delivery cycles.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Automation Engineering:

• Build and maintain test automation package for Salesforce and integrated enterprise applications.
• Expand automation across UI, API, integration, and regression layers to improve release confidence and reduce manual effort.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD
• Evaluate and implement tools, accelerators, and reusable components to improve efficiency, maintainability, and reliability.
• Promote best practices in test design, scripting standards, version control, and pipeline execution.
• Analyze test outcomes, identify defects, and partner with development teams on triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.

Defect Management and Quality Governance:

• Manage defects through the full lifecycle including logging, prioritization, tracking, retesting, and closure validation.
• Monitor and report QA/QE metrics including execution progress, automation coverage, defect trends, defect leakage, and velocity.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise QA/QE standards, policies, and control requirements.
• Identify testing gaps, non-compliance items, and process deviations, and drive remediation.

Technical Leadership and Continuous Improvement:

• Contribute to solution architecture and technical design discussions to ensure quality, testability, scalability, and risk mitigation are considered early.
• Lead adoption of modern testing practices including service virtualization, API automation, shift-left testing, and AI-assisted quality engineering.
• Recommend and implement improvements to testing processes, tools, frameworks, and operating models.
• Stay current with Salesforce releases, platform enhancements, and industry-leading QE practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing effectiveness, automation maturity, and engineering standards.
• Prepare testing estimates, timelines, and resource inputs for assigned initiatives.

Delivery, Estimation, and Stakeholder Communication:

• Manage testing scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and priorities across projects and releases.
• Produce dashboards, status updates, and quality reports for technical and business stakeholders.
• Support decision-making through quality assessments, release readiness recommendations, and risk-based insights.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• Collaborate with project managers, product owners, business analysts, developers, architects, and release teams to align testing with delivery objectives.
• Partner with Salesforce developers and integration teams to validate requirements, improve testability, and strengthen solution quality.
• Work with DevOps and platform engineering teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and improve release efficiency.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

• Deliver QE services for assigned projects and strategic initiatives across commercial banking and enterprise technology platforms.
• Support testing across Salesforce, API, web, mobile, integration, UX, accessibility, and enterprise systems.
• Operate as a senior hands-on QE professional with responsibility for execution excellence and technical leadership.
• Contribute to improved delivery quality, faster release cycles, and stronger engineering discipline.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in test automation development.
• Proven experience testing banking or enterprise-grade applications, including APIs, web services, databases, and integrated systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Lightning Experience.
• Experience with Salesforce automation tools such as Provar, Selenium, or similar platforms.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.

Must Have Skills:

• Strong experience in Salesforce test automation using Selenium, or equivalent.
• Solid experience in API testing, including REST, SOAP, and gRPC services.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Postman, Parasoft SOATest, REST Assured, and Karate.
• Programming or scripting capability in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD integration.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, or ALM.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and promote QE best practices.

Good to Have:

• Experience with MQ, batch testing, and UNIX.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with JMeter.
• Exposure to OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or other security testing concepts.
• Familiarity with microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Administrator, Platform App Builder, or related QA/testing credentials..
