Strata Accounts & Operations Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Strata Accounts & Operations Specialist to provide technical, accounting, and operational support to our strata team. This person will act as a support layer for junior team members, helping resolve day-to-day queries and reducing the need for senior management intervention.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day guidance and support to junior strata accounting team members.

* Assist with drafting, reviewing, and finalising professional client emails and communications.

* Review, troubleshoot, and finalise complex strata billing and accounting matters.

* Handle technical accounting queries and provide practical solutions.

* Review work prepared by junior team members and identify errors or inconsistencies.

* Ensure accounting work and client communications are accurate, professional, and timely.

* Take ownership of issues requiring greater strata or accounting expertise and resolve them independently where possible.

* Assist with month-end and other operational accounting processes.

* Develop and maintain consistent processes, templates, and best practices.

* Identify recurring issues and knowledge gaps and support team training and process improvement.

* Liaise with team members, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting and operational matters.

* Escalate genuinely complex or high-risk matters to senior management with the relevant background and recommended solution.

Requirements

* Strong experience in Australian strata accounting.

* Good understanding of strata financial processes, billing, reconciliations, and accounting requirements.

* Excellent written English and professional communication skills.

* Strong ability to review and improve client-facing emails.

* Ability to explain technical accounting concepts clearly to junior team members.

* Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, organisation, and time management.

* Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within the role.

* Proactive, solution-oriented approach with a willingness to take ownership rather than simply escalate problems.

* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote/team-based environment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone with strong practical strata accounting experience who can become the go-to person for technical and operational queries within the team. They should bring experience, judgement, structure, and confidence to a relatively junior team and help team members become more capable and independent.

The objective of this role is simple: to strengthen the team while taking the day-to-day technical and operational workload off senior management.
