Job Description
Operate the EPB TBM safely and efficiently as per approved operating parameters, method statements, and manufacturer guidelines. Control and monitor TBM systems including face pressure, advance rate, torque, thrust, cutterhead speed, screw conveyor, and slurry/soil conditioning systems. Adjust TBM parameters in response to changing geological and ground conditions under the guidance of the TBM Maintenance Engineer / TBM Engineer. Continuously monitor machine performance, alarms, and instrumentation to prevent breakdowns and unsafe conditions. Coordinate with segment erector operators and backup crews during ring building and advance cycles. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including emergency response and confined?space protocols. Accurately maintain operation logs, production reports, and shift handover records. Support planned maintenance activities and assist during cutterhead inspections and planned stoppages. Communicate effectively with shift supervisors, engineers, and control rooms regarding ground conditions, machine behavior, and production issues. Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and operational training sessions.
