Role Description The Student Counsellor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The Student Counsellor will meet with prospective students and families to understand their academic background, interests, and career goals, and provide tailored guidance on suitable countries, institutions, and courses. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, explaining admission requirements, assisting with application documentation, and coordinating with partner institutions when needed. The role involves responding to inquiries, maintaining accurate student records, following up on leads, and ensuring a professional and supportive experience for each learner. The Student Counsellor will collaborate with colleagues to organize information sessions, workshops, and outreach activities that promote VIDYA.PORTAL’s services. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills to guide learners in academic and study-abroad decisions. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to conduct clear, empathetic, and informative counseling sessions. Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to manage inquiries, build trust, and maintain positive relationships with students and families. Candidates should possess a good understanding of the Education sector, including admission processes and study-abroad pathways. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in educational consulting or study-abroad agencies, proficiency in using office, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor’s degree along with strong ethical standards and cultural sensitivity.
