Job Requirements

Qualification

MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification recognized by PMDC.

PMDC Registration: A valid, active full registration with PMDC/PMC is mandatory.

Candidates must possess a recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry:

Major Qualifications: FCPS Psychiatry, MD Psychiatry, MRCPsych, or equivalent recognized Level-III postgraduate degree.

Minor Qualifications: MCPS Psychiatry, DPM Diploma in Psychological Medicine, or equivalent PMDC-recognized diplomas.

Experience

Post-qualification clinical experience of 1 to 3 years in Psychiatry is preferred.

Job Description

• Advanced Patient Care & Supervision: Manage complex cases independently and supervise junior medical officers in clinical decision-making.
• Clinical Decision-Making: Formulate and implement advanced treatment plans in coordination with consultants.
• Emergency & Critical Care Management: Lead initial response and stabilization of critically ill patients and emergencies.
• Procedures & Clinical Oversight: Perform and supervise minor procedures and assist in major interventions.
• Patient Monitoring & Escalation: Ensure continuous monitoring of patients and timely escalation to consultants when required.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate medical records and adherence to medico-legal and regulatory standards.
• Ward Management & Rounds: Lead ward rounds in the absence of consultants and ensure continuity of care.
• Team Coordination: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated patient management.
• Quality Assurance & Protocol Adherence: Ensure implementation of SOPs, clinical guidelines, and patient safety protocols.
• Training & Mentorship: Guide house officers and junior doctors in clinical practices.
• Administrative Responsibilities: Support departmental operations and resource management.
• General Responsibility: Any other task assigned by the management.
