This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst based in United States. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role within a dynamic FP&A team, partnering closely with Transportation and other business functions. This position will own financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and operational performance reporting for transportation initiatives. You will translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that support profitable growth and strategic decision-making. The role also contributes to ship margin analysis, investment evaluation, and executive-level reporting for senior leadership, investors, and the board. Success requires strong financial modeling skills, business judgment, and the ability to build trusted partnerships across the organization.   • Lead monthly analysis of transportation initiatives, identifying key performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and variances against plan, and communicate findings to senior management.
  • Partner with Transportation and FP&A stakeholders to monitor weekly performance, provide timely visibility into changes in shipping costs and margins, and support informed decision-making.
  • Build bottom-up forecasts with business partners and translate operational assumptions into financial projections, targets, and actionable insights.
  • Support the annual operating planning process by developing appropriate financial plans, targets, budgets, and forecasts in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Develop and enhance financial models and processes supporting new transportation initiatives and strategic business priorities.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting and presentations for investors and the board, highlighting key metrics, budget variances, trends, and business performance.
  • Conduct operational and margin analysis to identify opportunities for improved profitability and communicate recommendations to relevant business partners.
  • Continuously improve and automate existing financial models, reporting files, and processes while developing practical solutions for complex analytical challenges.
  • Collaborate with management and cross-functional stakeholders to improve strategic planning, optimize investments, and identify solutions to evolving business needs.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to understand strategic objectives and connect financial analysis to broader business priorities.
  • Contribute to additional strategic initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc analyses as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in FP&A or a closely related financial analysis function.
  • Previous experience in third-party logistics, transportation, supply chain, or a comparable operational environment is required.
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities and a solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work confidently with large and complex datasets.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate business challenges, identify underlying drivers, and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and operational teams to develop forecasts, establish targets, and influence business decisions.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, SmartView, SQL, Power BI, and Power Query is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity, combined with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from analysis through execution.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and thrive in a high-performance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build effective business partnerships, and translate analysis into strategic action.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and guide others when needed.
