Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Manager to join our Audit service line. The successful candidate will manage audit engagements from planning through completion, supervise team members, and support the delivery of high-quality work for clients operating primarily within the financial services sector.

The role is suited to an audit professional who understands regulated financial businesses, complex financial products, and technology-enabled operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, completion, and reporting.
• Develop a thorough understanding of clients’ business models, products, systems, governance, internal controls, and regulatory environments.
• Identify and assess risks relating to financial instruments, valuation, revenue recognition, impairment, custody, regulatory compliance, and safeguarding of client assets.
• Prepare and review audit plans, working papers, financial statements, and client communications.
• Evaluate accounting treatments, management estimates, control frameworks, and significant or unusual transactions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and auditing standards, ethical requirements, and firm quality procedures.
• Manage engagement timelines, budgets, staffing, and deliverables, escalating significant matters promptly.
• Supervise junior team members and provide effective coaching, review, and feedback.
• Communicate clearly with client finance teams, management, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with valuation, tax, technology, and regulatory specialists when required.
• Support audit quality initiatives, training, and the use of audit technology and data analytics.

Qualifications and Experience

• A recognized professional accounting qualification, such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
• Relevant external audit experience within a professional services firm.
• Audit experience involving banks, investment managers, funds, brokers, payment businesses, fintech companies, or other regulated financial institutions.
• Knowledge of financial instruments and relevant financial reporting requirements.
• Experience supervising teams and managing multiple engagements.
