Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur Orthopedic Sports Medicine clinical & surgical practice, is seeking a full time Physician Assistant to join our Team & to work alongside a well respected surgeon.Orthopedic Physician Assistant Job Duties:Clinical Orthopedic Evaluations, exam and treat and surgical candidates.Sports Medicine Operating Room Assistant, first assist.On-call phone calls / weekend rotations (light call schedule).Provides commentary and information pertinent to patient care.Implements physician directives.Assesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examination (including obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories).Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic test, such as X-rays, MRI's and laboratory studies and by interpreting test results.Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections, suturing, and managing wounds and infections.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Physician Assistant Qualifications/Skills:Excellent communication skillsThoroughnessClinical skillsInforming othersMedical teamworkBedside mannerInfection controlAdministering medicationJoint injections / AspirationsO.R First AssistSuturing / Surgical IncisionsPain managementSelf-developmentClinical skillsEducation and Experience Requirements:Graduate from an PA accredited physician assistant programState licenseBLS / ACLS certificationNational Provider Identifier (NPI)\nCompany DescriptionAt Kerlan Jobe, we deliver expert orthopedic care that helps patients move better, feel stronger, and live fully.
