Miraval is a sanctuary for transformation and intentional living. The Senior Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial foundation that supports this mission by owning key accounting areas, ensuring accuracy, and driving consistency in financial processes.
The Role
The Senior Staff Accountant owns assigned balance sheet and P and L areas and ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial data within those areas. This role bridges execution and leadership by reviewing work, resolving issues, and supporting the Resort Controller in delivering reliable financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Own assigned balance sheet accounts and P and L areas, ensuring accuracy and completenessPrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Review work performed by Staff Accountants for accuracy and completeness
Lead assigned portions of the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met
Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies independently
Support payroll and labor cost analysis, ensuring alignment with operational activity
Ensure compliance with Hyatt accounting policies and internal control standards within assigned areas
Escalate complex issues or risks to the Controller with recommended solutions

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
3 to 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations
