Project Manager - Control Engineering

Location: Hanover, PA
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview

OFFICEforce is seeking an experienced senior level Project Manager with experience in Controls Design Engineering. If you're looking for a direct hire opportunity with a growing manufacturing organization. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who can independently design and implement complete control systems while leading cross-functional teams through the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will take ownership of controls design projects, support machine startups, and contribute to the continued growth of the company's engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design complete electrical control systems based on customer requirements and project specifications.
  • Select and size electrical components for machine and equipment applications.
  • Develop and support electrical schematics, panel layouts, and related design documentation.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for purchasing and production.
  • Assist with machine startup, testing, commissioning, and system validation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and provide technical support to customers and internal service teams.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage multiple controls projects while meeting established schedules and project objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to controls design and engineering processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls design
  • Management/Project Management experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design and implement industrial control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical controls, wiring practices, and component selection.
  • Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD software for electrical design.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for equipment installation, startup, and customer support.

What You'll Accomplish

Within your first 90 days, you can expect to:

  • Support active machine build projects from the controls engineering perspective.
  • Take ownership of assigned controls design projects from concept through implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful machine startup and project completion.
