Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Associate Distribution EngineerContract Duration: 5 Months
Position OverviewWe are seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to support electrical overhead (OH), underground (UG), URD, Make-Ready, and Street Light design projects. In this role, you will develop work packages and perform field inspections under the direction of a technical lead using GIS and WMS platforms (GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer, Maximo).Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems operating from 4kV to 138kV.Perform site visits and field inspections using your personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed at standard IRS rates).Conduct engineering calculations, including structural analysis for pole loading, guying, conductor sags/tensions, and voltage drop/flicker.Prepare permitting documents for local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), joint-use approvals, and right-of-way (ROW) applications.Provide technical support during construction and complete post-construction quality reviews.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred) from an ABET-accredited program.Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Flexibility: Comfortable working in both office and outdoor field environments.Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to use a personal vehicle for site visits.Preferred QualificationsExperience with pole loading and distribution design tools (Spida-Calc, Pole Foreman, BOUD, SOCKET).Hands-on experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, GIS, or WMS tools (GE Smallworld, Maximo).Familiarity with NESC standards and utility design guidelines.
