Director, Engineering IT Operations

b Overview /b p In this role you lead the strategy and day-to-day operations of global engineering IT infrastructure that supports 1,000+ semiconductor designers. You drive reliable, secure, scalable platforms for chip development, collaborating with silicon CAD/EDA teams and IT leadership. You’ll push automation and self-service to boost engineering productivity in a 24x7, high-impact environment. This position offers a chance to shape critical infrastructure that underpins tapeouts and cutting-edge engineering workflows. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Define and lead the infrastructure strategy for semiconductor design across global sites /li li Ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security of chip development platforms /li li Manage Linux infrastructure, compute farms, enterprise storage, revision control, automation, and observability teams /li li Oversee 24x7 production operations including incident response, root cause analysis, change management, and disaster recovery /li li Align infrastructure priorities with business and product goals through cross-functional partnership /li li Advance automation and self-service to improve engineering productivity and platform reliability /li li Develop capacity plans and long-range roadmaps to support growth in compute and storage /li li Establish service-level expectations and continuous improvement practices across engineering IT operations /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Extensive Linux infrastructure architecture, deployment, and support experience for complex engineering apps /li li Experience administering large-scale Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS) /li li Deep knowledge of NFS, LDAP/AD, DNS/DHCP, SSH, PAM, and security hardening /li li Enterprise storage expertise including NAS/SAN and large-scale data management /li li Experience supporting 5,000+ servers and multi-site global environments /li li HPC/compute farm administration and IBM Spectrum LSF experience (job scheduling, queueing, resource allocation) /li li Understanding of RTL-to-GDSII flows, EDA tool environments (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor) and tapeout reliability /li li Perforce administration at enterprise scale (databases, backups, replication, access controls) /li li Experience with Git family tools (Git, GitLab, Gerrit, GitHub) and CI/CD for hardware flows /li li Automation and IaC tooling (Puppet, Python, Shell, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes) /li li Observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK) /li li Security, compliance, change management, and disaster recovery experience /li li Strong leadership of senior technical teams (Linux admins, HPC/storage engineers, DevOps) /li li Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills /li /ul ul li Strong leadership of senior technical teams /li li Cross-functional collaboration /li li Strategic thinking with hands-on, pragmatic mindset /li li Linux (RHEL/CentOS), NFS, LDAP/AD, DNS/DHCP, SSH, PAM /li li Enterprise storage (NAS/SAN), data backup and DR /li li Perforce at enterprise scale /li /ul
