Skills and Role: You will own technology at Heather Grey – both keeping the things we already run working, and building the things we don’t have yet. We don’t have specific requirements for your background – we just need you to be hands-on, curious about how the business actually works, and comfortable being the person everyone comes to when something breaks.

Some things you will be doing at work are –

1. Own our systems end to end – ERP, orders, production and inventory data – and make sure they tell us the truth

2. Build or buy what we’re missing, and automate the work our teams currently do by hand

3. Connect us to our customers’ systems – portals, EDI, forecasts – so orders flow without someone re-typing them

4. Keep the basics solid – devices, networks, access, backups and security across our offices and partner sites

5. Manage our vendors and budgets, and be honest about what’s worth paying for

6. Sit with the leadership team on where technology should take us next

Education and Experience: We don’t care so much about degrees or years of experience, so don’t let the list below deter you from applying, but generally, these might be helpful indicators that you’re the right person for the job -

1. Engineering, computer science or equivalent

2. 5+ years of work experience, some of it owning systems rather than just supporting them

3. Have worked with an ERP or similar business system, ideally in manufacturing, retail or supply chain

4. Can still get your hands dirty – a script, a query, a spreadsheet that does the job
