Position Overview

  • The HR Manager – India Operations will be responsible for independently managing and overseeing the complete HR function for the India operations. The role requires a strong HR professional with hands-on experience in HR operations, recruitment, payroll, statutory compliance, employee relations, performance management, HR policies, and team management.
  • The candidate should be capable of managing HR operations independently and working closely with senior management to ensure a disciplined, productive, and compliant workplace.

1. HR Operations

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations for the India team.
  • Manage the complete employee lifecycle from joining to exit.
  • Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files.
  • Handle employee queries, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure smooth implementation of HR processes.

2. Recruitment & Manpower Planning

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for all departments.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with department heads.
  • Prepare JDs, post vacancies, screen CVs, and conduct interviews.
  • Manage candidate selection, offer, joining, and onboarding processes.
  • Track recruitment requirements and hiring timelines.

3. Payroll & Attendance

  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing.
  • Verify attendance, leaves, late marks, overtime, deductions, and other payroll inputs.
  • Coordinate with Finance/Payroll teams for salary processing.
  • Ensure accurate attendance and leave records.
  • Resolve payroll and attendance-related employee issues.

4. Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Indian labour laws.
  • Coordinate PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, TDS, LWF, and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with CA, payroll consultants, and external agencies.
  • Maintain statutory records and compliance documentation.

5. Performance Management

  • Manage employee performance appraisal processes.
  • Implement performance review systems and KPIs.
  • Handle Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Work with managers on underperformance and productivity issues.
  • Provide performance-related reports to senior management.

6. HR Policies & Discipline

  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and SOPs.
  • Ensure employees comply with company policies.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and policy violations.
  • Identify HR process gaps and implement corrective measures.

7. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Handle employee grievances and workplace concerns.
  • Maintain professional employee-management relationships.
  • Conduct employee engagement activities.
  • Promote workplace discipline, accountability, and productivity.
  • Support management in resolving employee-related matters.

8. HR MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HR reports.
  • Track headcount, attendance, attrition, recruitment, leaves, payroll, and employee performance.
  • Prepare HR dashboards and MIS for senior management.
  • Maintain accurate and updated HR data.

9. HR Software & Automation

  • Manage HRMS, payroll, attendance, and leave management systems.
  • Ensure proper utilization of HR software.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual HR processes.
  • Improve HR reporting, data accuracy, and process efficiency.

10. HR Team Management

  • Lead and manage the HR team.
  • Delegate responsibilities and monitor task completion.
  • Train and mentor HR team members.
  • Ensure timely completion of all HR activities.
  • Establish accountability and performance standards within the HR department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Previous experience as HR Manager / HR Operations Manager preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of India HR Operations and statutory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with recruitment, payroll, attendance, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Experience working with HRMS/payroll/attendance software.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Male candidate preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in India HR Operations.
  • Should be capable of independently managing the complete HR function.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and HR compliance.
  • Experience managing an HR team.
  • Strong ownership and accountability.
  • Proactive, disciplined, and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to work directly with senior management and handle sensitive employee matters professionally.
