Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Article Assistant role based in Chennai and requirement to travel to client places outside Chennai. The Article Assistant will support audit and assurance engagements, including vouching, verification of financial records, test checks, and documentation under the guidance of seniors. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of working papers, supporting tax computations and filings, and helping in the compilation of financial statements and reports. The role also involves performing basic research on accounting and tax provisions, maintaining organized files, and following internal processes and professional standards. The Article Assistant will regularly interact with team members and clients to gather information, clarify queries, and contribute to accurate and timely deliverables.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting, auditing, and basic taxation principles, with an interest in pursuing a career in chartered accountancy.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word) and comfort working with accounting or ERP software and digital documentation tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document work clearly and interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions while applying sound judgment in day-to-day tasks.
- Demonstrated time management, organization, and willingness to take responsibility for assigned work and meet deadlines.
- Eligibility and registration (or intent to register) as an article trainee under the applicable chartered accountancy regulations.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and continuous learning in a professional services environment.
