Summary :
Monitors and maintains the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that include analytical work and thorough review of financial records. These duties include, but are not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis of interim financial statements and ad/hoc reporting. Provides customer service for both internal and external customers, including training/instruction of general ledger usage for internal customers. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual Health System financial consolidations, eliminating entries and footnote and MD&A prep. Responsible for all investment, debt, and pension and retirement accounting, including preparation of related annual financial statements. Reviews and approves certain balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the staff accountant and may interface with external audit staff as needed. Supports Net Revenue Accounting through financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts receivable analysis, and Kodiak RCA revenue analytics. Identifies and explains trends and variances impacting net patient revenue, contractual allowances, and overall financial performance.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and analyze net patient revenue reporting, including reserve methodology calculations, reconciliations, financial schedules, and Crowe Revenue Cycle Analytics (RCA) reporting.
- Partner with Revenue Integrity, Managed Care, Finance, and accounting teams to identify trends, investigate variances, support accurate reserve calculations, and ensure reliable financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated Health System financial statements, including schedules, footnotes and MD&A in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Prepare monthly eliminating entries for the Health System financials.
- Review, reconcile and prepare monthly entries related to investments and debt for the Health System.
- Prepare pension, benefit and single audit financial packages and audit schedules; coordinate information gathering from internal and external customers; and answer auditor inquiries.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries according to established guidelines and timeframes.
- Perform monthly account variance analysis for balance sheet and income statement accounts for the financial review process and prepare and record adjusting entries as necessary.
How Youll Be Successful:
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years related experience required
- At least 2 years Healthcare Industry experience required
- Strong experience with Net Patient Service Revenue (NPSR) required
- At least 2 years experience with Kodiak RCA required
- At least 2 years Intermediate to Advanced Knowledge of Excel functions preferred
EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
