Group Senior Manager - Quality Assurance

JOB PURPOSE:

DP World is looking for a Group Senior Manager - Quality Assurance for Cargoes suite of products - a leader with exceptional technical and communication skills, who can challenge the team to solve critical problems and deliver innovative QA solutions. You should be passionate about building a world-class digital trade logistics product and can deliver in a fast-moving environment.

As the Sr. QA Manager, you will be a hands-on leader for a Core part of our business and platform. You will hire a team of talented engineers, and SDETs, provide functional & technical leadership and mentorship, encouraging professional and personal growth for everyone in the team. You will help deliver software on time with minimal defects into production and help build automation to be able to scale. You will also identify commonalities in testing methodologies across multiple products and build common frameworks that can be used in each product testing.

The ideal candidate will have successfully led SDET teams of large-scale distributed systems. They will have a solid understanding of microservices-based architecture and cloud infrastructure management like AWS, Azure, and the associated build and deployment processes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• End to End QA ownership of the products. Define, implement and ensure that product quality goals are meets that includes but is not limited to functionality, UX, performance, stress, stability, and reliability.
• Setup best in class QA processes for early detection of bugs and zero-defect leakages
• Strong focus on automation, CI/CD, and process improvement.
• Coordinate with other product stakeholders to plan QA activities and administer QA deliverables on a day-to-day basis.
• Create QA plans that have clear, measurable success criteria, and communicate progress and outcomes.
• Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
• Define, measure, and improve Key Performance Indicators for the team
• Hire and develop a high performing SDET team
• Provide a very ‘Hands-on’ technical leadership and mentoring for engineers in the team.
• Create an environment to foster the professional and personal growth of each engineer in the team.
• Ability to articulate the xSDET strategy to cross-functional teams.
• Ensure timely response and resolutions to relevant site operations and support escalations.
• Write effective narratives and present them concisely and effectively to senior leadership.

OTHER:

• Applicable if role has direct or indirect reports - responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.
• Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor's in technology, Engineering, or equivalent (BE/BTech/BS). Computer Science preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering of which 3+ years in a QA Manager role in a product company.
• Strong people management skills with a proven track record in hiring and developing a SDET team
• Strong project management skills, preferably with experience in an agile development environment.
• Strong QA background in defining and leading effective QA processes
• Proven track record in implementing automated testing tools, frameworks, and CI/CD.
• Experience in automation testing of web services (REST, SOAP)/website/Mobile app
• Experience working on an open-source testing tool/framework like Selenium, TestNG, pytest, etc.
• Experience working on Linux/Unix environment
• Basic Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, Caching, and pub-sub technologies
• Knowledge of git, Jenkins, CI/CD, Docker, k8s, Azure DevOps, cloud technologies
• Ability to meet challenges under demanding conditions and keep calm under pressure.
• Proven ability to influence across matrix organizations at various levels.
• Roll-up sleeves attitude, remove obstacles that prevent teams from achieving their goals.
