Salary: $72,800 - 93,600 per year Requirements:

• We require 3–5 years of networking experience, with MSP or multi-client environment experience preferred.
• We need hands-on firewall administration experience with Fortinet and/or Sophos.
• We expect strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, VPNs (SSL/IPSec), and wireless fundamentals.
• We require clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and represent us professionally at client sites each day.
• CompTIA Network+ is required at the time of hire or already obtained through internal promotion.
• A valid California drivers license is required, along with a reliable personal vehicle and insurance.
• Successful completion of state and national background checks is a condition of employment.
• Preferred: firewall certification is a plus.
• Preferred: CompTIA Security+ is a plus.
• Preferred: familiarity with PSA/ticketing platforms and RMM tools is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to install and cable equipment in racks, ceilings, wiring closets, and confined spaces.
• Ability to work for prolonged periods at a computer.
• Daily travel to client sites with reliable transportation is required.

• We administer client firewalls, including policy design, IPS/IDS tuning, SSL/IPSec VPN configuration, and content filtering.
• We design and implement VLAN segmentation, switching changes, and wireless deployments based on approved change requests.
• We lead escalated network incident response on-site and remotely by isolating root causes, restoring service, and documenting root-cause analysis in the ticketing system.
• We respond to emergency deployments at client sites for outages and urgent incidents as needed.
• We plan and carry out firmware and OS upgrade cycles for client network equipment, including rollback planning and maintenance-window scheduling.
• We review firewall rule sets for least-privilege compliance and escalate risks affecting regulated clients to Senior Engineers and Client Technical Managers.
• We perform on-site installation and replacement of firewalls, switches, and access points.
• We serve as the technical escalation point for Network Engineer Level 1, reviewing escalations and providing guidance.
• We maintain and improve network documentation, including topology diagrams, IP schemas, configuration backups, and change records.
• We support the service desk queue with network-related tickets when in the office and available.
• We document all field and desk work in the ticketing system the same day, including client sign-off where applicable.

We are seeking a mid-level Network Engineer Level 2 for a full-time, hourly non-exempt role based in Upland, CA. This is a field-based position, with most of the week spent at client sites and 1–2 office days per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend NOC rotation approximately every 6–8 weekends, scheduled after-hours maintenance windows, and emergency client-site deployments as needed. We reimburse mileage for eligible travel between our office and client sites or between client locations during the workday, and travel time is paid. The role offers hourly pay of $35.00 to $45.00 and requires relocation to Upland, CA before starting work. In this position, we own firewall administration, network projects, and escalated incidents across our contract clients, with Senior Engineers providing oversight on security-impacting changes.
