Company Description Himalaya Fund (SME Scheme – I) is a SEBI-registered Category I AIF that provides strategic capital to high-potential SMEs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, combining institutional-grade governance with active value creation support. The fund targets a total corpus of ₹500 Crores, including a ₹250 Crores base and a ₹250 Crores greenshoe option. Its sector-agnostic investment approach emphasizes high-growth areas such as healthcare, defence, circular economy, robotics and automation, SpaceTech, and electronics. Typical investment ticket sizes range from ₹10 to ₹50 Crores, enabling meaningful minority and control transactions with scalable businesses. Role Description The VP Investments is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurgaon, responsible for leading the end-to-end investment process for SME opportunities. This includes sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, building robust financial models, conducting commercial and financial due diligence, and developing investment theses aligned with the fund’s strategy. The role involves structuring and negotiating transactions, preparing investment committee memos, and coordinating with legal, tax, and other advisors to close deals. On an ongoing basis, the VP Investments will monitor portfolio performance, support value creation initiatives, and contribute to exit planning and execution. The position also requires maintaining strong relationships with promoters, intermediaries, and ecosystem partners, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to internal best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong investment management capabilities, including Investment Management and Investments skills, with experience in private equity, venture capital, or growth capital for SMEs.
• Advanced Finance skills, with proficiency in financial modelling, valuation, transaction structuring, and portfolio performance analysis.
• Proven experience in Due Diligence, covering financial, legal, operational, and market assessments for potential investments.
• Expertise in developing and executing Investment Strategies, particularly in high-growth sectors such as healthcare, defence, technology, and industrials.
• Relevant academic background, ideally a postgraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CA, CFA, MBA) are an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to lead deals end-to-end, manage multiple stakeholders, and communicate complex concepts clearly in written and verbal form.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with sound judgment and high ethical standards.
• Comfort working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment and collaborating closely with SME founders and management teams.
